Dental Implants

Dental implants can be the most effective way to replace single or multiple missing teeth. They require more time than bridges or dentures, but are the closest to feeling like your real teeth.

Dental implants are completed in three steps. The first part is placement of the implant fixture inside the gums and bone, which acts as the artificial root. After this, a few months are necessary for the bone to integrate into the implant and anchor it as if it was a natural root. The second step is to place an abutment, which acts as a connector between the fixture and the implant crown, which is the third step.

It's important to note that you must be a favorable candidate for a dental implant. This means you must have adequate bone density and thickness, otherwise the implant will fail due to lack of support.
