Dr. Amir Karu is a full-time physician at Care Medical and board certified in internal medicine. After graduating from Rutgers University with a double major in biomathematics and genetics/microbiology he attended medical school graduating magna cum laude. He then set forward to complete his medical residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Following residency, he joined staff at Mt. Sinai West in Manhattan, NY where he served as a teaching attending physician in the department of medicine. After completing one year at Mt. Sinai West he joined Care Medical.
Dr. Karu is passionate about preventive medicine and staying up to date on current guidelines of diagnosis and treatment. He currently has admitting privileges at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset and is actively
seeing patients on an inpatient and outpatient bases. On his free
time Dr. Karu enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with his wife and daughters.
